Data lifecycle

How to export your data, what happens when a lead or a company is deleted, how long each kind of data is kept, and the switches you have over processing.

Your data is yours. CloseUp ships tooling for export, erasure, time-limited retention and consent. This page explains in plain terms what happens to data from the moment it enters CloseUp until it is deleted.

Data export

You can get a full export of your company data as a JSON file, on request or when your contract ends. The export covers your company CRM records, so you can keep them or move them to another system.

Company deletion

  • A company deletion request schedules the company for deletion with a 30-day grace period.
  • When the grace period ends, the company records, uploaded files and AI logs are deleted.
  • Every deletion produces a deletion receipt: a record of what was deleted and when, with no personal data in it.

Lead deletion

  • A deleted lead can be restored for 30 days.
  • After 30 days the lead is permanently erased, together with everything derived from it: calls and transcripts, messages, notes, tasks, meetings, documents and AI analysis.

Retention windows

CloseUp automatically clears operational data after a fixed period.

AI and transcription controls

Each company has separate switches to turn off AI processing and call transcription. When a switch is off, data is not sent to the AI or transcription providers. The providers are listed on the Sub-processors page.

Bulk messaging tracks marketing consent, and every recipient can unsubscribe with one click.
